Foldable Keyboard Simplifies Smartphone Typing

Japanese electronics firm Elecom and Norwegian company One2Touch are launching an NFC-enabled keyboard that works with smartphones, letting people type without pairing or cables. The 34cm silicone keyboard has a space in the middle to place a smartphone and is both foldable and waterproof.

The gadget features a built-in battery and doesn’t need to be plugged into anything or charged. Based on typical use, it is said to last at least 3-5 years on internal power. Unfortunately, after that the user would need to buy a replacement keyboard, and the current price of 18,690 yen (around $240) makes that an expensive prospect.
